    "Victory to Shri Ram." A call of praise that works as a greeting and as remembrance of Ram, all at once.

    Where it comes from

    In north Indian villages people greet each other with Jai Shri Ram, or simply Ram Ram. You'll hear it in the Ram Navami processions, at the burning of Ravana on Dussehra, and on Diwali night. In Ayodhya it's practically in the air.

    How to chant it

    Aloud, and usually together with others. It's customary on taking darshan at a Ram temple.
