    What it means

Radhe Radhe, bring me to Shyam. The devotee asks Radha to take them to Krishna.

    Where it comes from

This isn't Sanskrit; it's a kirtan in the Braj dialect, so its feeling lands immediately. In the temples of Barsana and Vrindavan it can go on for hours to dholak and cymbals, and during Holi, when Braj is drenched in colour, it's in every lane.

    How to chant it

Sung, with dholak and cymbals. If you don't know a tune, just keep the rhythm going.

When: Evening kirtan. Radhashtami and Holi especially.

    Questions people ask

Braj believes that with Radha's grace Krishna comes easily, so the devotee goes straight to her.
