    History

Ayodhya is regarded in the Ramayana as the birthplace of Lord Ram and is one of the seven sacred Sapta Puri cities. Following decades of dispute and the Supreme Court's landmark 2019 verdict, construction of the present grand temple began in 2020, and it was inaugurated with the consecration (Pran Pratishtha) of Ramlala on 22 January 2024. The temple is built in traditional Nagara architectural style.

    Spiritual significance

The temple is the centrepiece of Ayodhya's broader redevelopment and the "Ram Path" project, and nearby sites like Hanuman Garhi and Kanak Bhawan make the whole city a comprehensive pilgrimage experience.
