History
The Trimbakeshwar temple lies at the foot of Brahmagiri hill, about 28 km from Nashik, traditionally regarded as the source of the Godavari river. This Jyotirlinga is unusual for having three small lingas carved into a single stone, said to represent Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva together. The present grand black-stone temple was built in the 18th century by Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao.
Spiritual significance
Trimbakeshwar is part of the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela circuit, one of the four Kumbh sites, and is especially known for specialized rituals like Narayan Nagbali and Kalasarpa Dosha puja, drawing devotees from across the country.
