Privacy Policy

Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited and how the site is used (e.g. page views, approximate region, device type). This data is aggregated and not linked to your identity.

Location (optional). Features like "Nearby Temples" and location-aware Panchang timings ask for your device's location only when you choose to use them. Your browser or the app will show a native permission prompt first — nothing is accessed without it. Location is used to calculate distances and is not stored on our servers.

Push notifications (optional). If you opt in to notifications (for the daily Panchang or new articles), Firebase Cloud Messaging issues a device token used only to deliver those notifications. You can disable this anytime from your device/browser notification settings or the site's Notification Settings page.

On-device storage. Preferences such as your language choice, and tools like the Naam Jap counter, are saved using your browser's or app's local storage on your own device. This data never leaves your device and is not sent to us.

Collected data is used only to operate and improve Spiritual Marg — understanding which content is useful, delivering notifications you've opted into, and providing location-based features. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.

We use the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google Analytics — usage analytics
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — push notifications
• Netlify — website and app-backend hosting

The Spiritual Marg Android app displays the Spiritual Marg website inside the app and requests only the device permissions needed for the features above (internet access, and location/notifications if you opt in). On launch, the app checks a small version file hosted on our website to see if an update is required — this check does not include any personal information.

Spiritual Marg is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will remove it.

On-device data (preferences, counters, notification tokens) can be cleared at any time by clearing the app/browser's site data, or uninstalling the app. To request deletion of any analytics or notification data associated with your device, email us using the contact details below.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the website or app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
