    History

    The distinguishing feature of the Salasar Balaji idol is that Hanuman is depicted with a beard and moustache, setting it apart from most other Hanuman shrines. Legend holds that the idol was unearthed by a farmer while ploughing his field in the 18th century and was later installed at Salasar.
