    Meaning

    This hymn is drawn from the Devi Mahatmyam (Durga Saptashati) in the Markandeya Purana, popularly known as "Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu." It salutes the Goddess as the subtle presence residing within every being — as power, intellect, sleep, hunger, shadow, thirst, radiance, prosperity, modesty, peace, faith, compassion, and motherhood.
