    Meaning

This is the Sankatanashana Ganesha Stotram, which tradition places in the Narada Purana. In it the sage Narada lists twelve names of Ganesha: Vakratunda, Ekadanta, Krishnapingaksha, Gajavaktra, Lambodara, Vikata, Vighnaraja, Dhumravarna, Bhalachandra, Vinayaka, Ganapati and Gajanana. The closing verses, the phalashruti, say that whoever reads these names morning, noon and evening need not fear obstacles, and that the student gains learning, the seeker of wealth gains wealth, and the seeker of liberation finds the way.
