    History

The Dwarkadhish temple stands on the Arabian Sea coast and represents the western seat of the Char Dham established by Adi Shankaracharya. Tradition holds this is the site where Krishna established his capital after leaving Mathura. The present five-storey structure dates to around the 16th century, though the original temple is believed to be far older. The temple flag is changed five times a day.

    Spiritual significance

Dwarka itself is one of the seven Sapta Puri cities associated with moksha, and given the nearby Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, pilgrims often visit both sites together.
