History
The Sri Krishna Balaram Mandir was established in 1975 by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, ISKCON's founder-acharya. The temple complex also houses Prabhupada's samadhi (memorial shrine), visited daily by thousands of devotees paying respects. The temple lies along the traditional Vrindavan parikrama route and serves as a major hub for international devotees visiting Vrindavan.
Spiritual significance
The temple is regarded as one of Vrindavan's cleanest, best-organized, and most welcoming sites for international visitors, with a goshala (cow shelter) and guest accommodation on the premises.
