    History

The Madan Mohan temple was built around 1580 CE by Krishna Das Kapoor, a merchant from Multan, under the guidance of Sanatana Goswami, one of the six principal Goswamis. It is counted among Vrindavan's oldest surviving temples and is notable for its red sandstone Nagara-style architecture. The original deity was moved to Karauli in Rajasthan for safekeeping during Aurangzeb's reign and continues to be worshipped there today.

    Spiritual significance

Perched on a hillock, the temple offers a scenic view of the Yamuna and holds a special place among the historic temples associated with the six Goswamis.
