    History

Chintpurni temple is dedicated to Goddess Chhinnamastika, one of the ten Mahavidyas. Tradition holds that Sati's feet fell here. The name "Chintpurni" reflects the belief that any heartfelt worry (chinta) brought here with devotion is resolved. The goddess is worshipped in an aniconic "pindi" form rather than as a conventional sculpted idol.

    Spiritual significance

The temple is part of Himachal Pradesh's "Shakti Peeth triangle" (Jwalamukhi, Chintpurni, Naina Devi), and pilgrims often cover all three shrines in a single circuit.
