History
Naina Devi temple sits atop a hill in Bilaspur district, overlooking the scenic Govind Sagar lake. Tradition holds that Sati's eyes fell here, giving the goddess her name "Naina" (of the eyes). The site also has a strong connection to Sikh history, given its proximity to Anandpur Sahib, where Guru Gobind Singh Ji spent considerable time.
Spiritual significance
Naina Devi sees especially large crowds during Navratri, and a ropeway (cable car) is available for the climb, making the pilgrimage more accessible for elderly and differently-abled devotees.
