    History

    The Chamunda Devi temple sits on the banks of the Baner Ganga in the Kangra valley, with sweeping views of the Dhauladhar range. Goddess Chamunda is regarded as a fierce manifestation of Kali/Durga, who slew the demons Chanda and Munda. The temple is often included in Himachal Pradesh's broader goddess-circuit alongside Jwalamukhi, Chintpurni, and Naina Devi.

    A bridge near the complex leads devotees to bathe in the Baner Ganga before darshan, and the site is also popular for its natural tranquility and Himalayan views.
