    History

The Chandi Devi temple stands on Neel Parvat, the eastern summit of the Shivalik hills at Haridwar. The present structure is generally credited to Suchat Singh, a ruler of Kashmir, in 1929, while the consecration of the main image is traditionally attributed to Adi Shankaracharya.

    Spiritual significance

Among Haridwar's Panch Tirth, Chandi Devi, Mansa Devi and Maya Devi are the principal shrines, and pilgrims commonly visit all three together. Navratri and the Kumbh bring the largest crowds. A ropeway runs up to the temple.
