History
Tara Tarini temple sits on Kumari hill by the Rushikulya river, near Berhampur (Brahmapur). Tradition holds that Sati's breasts fell here. The goddess is worshipped in twin forms — Tara and Tarini — representing both courage and compassion. It is one of Odisha's four principal ancient Shakti and Tantra Peethas.
Spiritual significance
A ropeway is available for the hill climb to the temple, which offers sweeping views of the Rushikulya river valley — making it a site of both spiritual and scenic value.
